{"id":308,"date":"2016-03-01T12:15:58","date_gmt":"2016-03-01T11:15:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.danhudson.net\/?p=308"},"modified":"2016-12-22T12:17:15","modified_gmt":"2016-12-22T11:17:15","slug":"five-deep-cuts-machine-head-will-play-on-an-evening-with-tour","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.danhudson.net\/?p=308","title":{"rendered":"Five deep cuts Machine Head will play on An Evening with\u2026 tour"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>(Originally written for the Ticketmaster Blog)<\/p>\n<p>Here at Ticketmaster, we\u2019re gearing up for the An Evening with Machine Head dates which kick off later this week.<\/p>\n<p>There are no support acts, and they\u2019ll be playing for over two hours.<\/p>\n<p>Whilst we\u2019re always excited to hear the likes of Davidian and Imperium tearing up venues, on these particular dates we\u2019re most pumped about some of the deeper cuts from their eight-album back-catalogue, and moshing hard to some songs they haven\u2019t played for a long time, and some they\u2019ve barely played at all, ever.<\/p>\n<p>*Possible setlist spoiler alert. There are some of those songs they\u2019ve been playing on this tour overseas.*<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. From This Day<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If, like me, you don\u2019t subscribe to the idea that Machine Head\u2019s \u2018nu-metal\u2019 period was necessarily that bad, and that their third album The Burning Red is massively underrated, you\u2019ll be as stoked as me to hear that they\u2019ll be playing From This Day on these dates, especially as they haven\u2019t for the best part of 15 years. Get ready for the \u2018F**k the rest of you\u2019 line, it might catch you off guard.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/HJzeJiHHQOY\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Bulldozer<\/strong><br \/>\nWhilst even the most hardcore Machine Head fan would struggle to argue that the fourth album Supercharger is not a hit and miss affair, it\u2019s impossible to deny the sheer force of album opener Bulldozer. Enormous circle pits await.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/2ehqFnGvWgg\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Ten Ton Hammer<\/strong><br \/>\nIt doesn\u2019t quite match Imperium\u2019s level of ferocity but it will give you a the same amount confidence to take on your adversaries and win at life. (And shout Machine F\u2019n Head at deafening volume) From The More Things Change\u2026<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/pjl5AKpsDoU\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>4. Old<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Standout track from 1994 debut Burn My Eyes (aside from Davidian obviously that\u2019s been floating in and out of their sets ever since. We\u2019re supremely excited to know it\u2019ll be on this run of dates.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/YWGaASV5N4s\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>5. Descend The Shades of Night<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Epic album closer from return to form release (and my personal favourite) Through The Ashes of Empires.
